the first thing is. that pete will reach into your chest and write a song about You. and it will sound so beautiful even when you scream yourself hoarse to the tune. the second thing is that you will find people who you love, and you will find them because the song is about Them, Too, and you will not have to scream alone.

popcorn-jointsI find it more than a little irritating that the autistic community can write news articles, and essays, and incredibly long posts about gifted kid burnout but can’t manage to write more than one line positivity posts for intellectually and learning disabled autistics.

and another 25% of autistics in addition to the third that are intellectually disabled have borderline intellectual disability. that bring it up to over half being ID or borderline ID. but no one ever talks about us they only talk about the gifted kids.
why is it so rare to find ID and borderline ID people in the online autism community when we are over half of autistic people? we are not rare

it is impossible to be any degree of intellectually disabled and gifted. to get into the gifted program you take an IQ test and need to have a high IQ. (above 135 I think) ID is diagnosed with an IQ test and you have to have a low IQ. (below 70 for ID and below 75-80 for borderline ID)
